Cheese Making Workshops

Join Master Cheesemaker, Geoff Southam, for a hands-on day in the kitchen learning how to make a range of delicious cheeses including Haloumi, Persian Feta, Indian Panir, and Mozzarella.

Spatula Making Workshops

Come get a sense of happy slowness: a special kind of accidental meditation called ‘spoonfulness’.
This workshop is a great introduction to the wonderful world of carving a spoon or spatula straight from a sustainably sourced log. You will be shown how to safely use a small axe and knife to carve useful and everyday kitchen goodies. All tools and materials are provided, and no experience is needed. Just turn up and whittle away :) This workshop is for people aged 16 and over.

Blacksmithing Workshops

Try your hand at blacksmithing in a 1 hour workshop for adults and kids over 12 years old. Come and learn the basics of the ancient art of blacksmithing and take home a small creation of your very own making (multiple projects available). There will be 5 workshops each day.

No experience needed, and all materials and tools will be provided. Please wear covered shoes and long pants.

Sheep Dog Training School

Learn the basic skills in getting the best performance out of your dog. Neil Lynch, of Cooma, will be holding a Sheep Dog Training School at this year’s South Coast Field Days. Schools like this down the coast are rare, as they are normally held in Cooma. Neil is a champion Trial Dog trainer and sheep farmer and has considerable experience with training the owner as well as the dog. There are limited places in this school as it will only be held on Saturday 23rd September.
