SPATULA MAKING WITH THE SPOONSMITH

We are so happy to announce that The Spoonsmith will be doing 1/2 day spatula carving/making workshops.

Jeff starts with sustainably sourced trees and uses only simple hand tools and a sprinkling of lost ways to make a range of soulful goods. Come check him out and learn how to make spatulas from trees!

BEEKEEPING

Come meet Adrian Iodice from Beekeeping Naturally and learn about practicing natural, sustainable, biodynamic beekeeping and how to restore ecological integrity to our agricultural systems, beginning with the pollinators – the Bees.

Adrian will be talking at the Pip Permaculture Magazine Speakers tent as well as presenting and selling his own Kenyan Top bar hives.

 



NATURAL BUILDING

Massimiliano Guerrisi from Gaia Range sustainable permaculture farm will be demonstrating the art of LIGHT STRAW CLAY SLIP.

BLACKSMITHING

We are so happy that Iain Hamilton from Mother Mountain Forge, our local blacksmith and knife maker, as seen on River Cottage Australia, will be doing workshops at the SCFD. He has been smithing for over 15 years and is one of only 10 full time knife makers in Australia. Come check him out!

 

THE REMAKERY

The Cobargo Creators Centre are presenting a space for making things from waste materials Where you will be re-using, re-purposing, reinventing, reducing waste, making stuff, sharing your skills and ideas & having fun!

 



BUSH DANCING

Saturday Sept 23rd - Cobargo Hall - 7.30pm

   

 

CHILDREN ACTIVITIES

  1. Leather work - Saturday 2pm – 4pm. Sunday 2pm – 4 pm. Children to make key rings – cut out and stamped, or bookmarks.
  2. Plant Propagation - Sunday 10am – 12pm. Children will sow seeds into toilet rolls, punnets, swell jiffy pots and sow vegetables for their garden. Then they can make cuttings of rosemary, salvia and daisy that do not require chemical plant hormones.
  3. Tiny House clay building - Saturday 2pm – 4pm - Sunday 2pm – 4 pm. Children to make small clay houses on a supplied piece of plywood. Roof material brush wood.
  4. Beeswax Candle making - Saturday 10 am – 12pm - Sunday 10am – 12pm. Non-toxic Candles. Dipping candle wicks into melted Beeswax coloured with food dyes.

Children will keep everything they make!

 

SCFD GUESSING COMPETITION

How well do you know old farm and household items?

Well, you will have a chance to test your knowledge. A number of items will be displayed for you to guess their name or their use.

Gold coin entry. Prizes for the most correct entry and also for the funniest answers!

Display will be in the Pavilion so don't miss it!
